Responsibilities:

  • Architect, design and implement custom hardware developed for competitive trading.
  • Work closely with other team members to evaluate system architecture and develop system level architecture proposals.
  • Research and evaluate new technologies.
  • Circuit and board level design realization activities including schematic captures. Experience with PCB layout a plus.
  • Perform hardware testing including circuit characterization and system level testing.
  • Evaluate and Collaborate with Fabrication & Assembly Suppliers.
  • Investigate hardware issues to root cause and provide appropriate solutions and recommendations.
  • Real estate planning, power budgets, design architecture, and logistical support (cost,schedules, resources).
  • Management of external vendors fabrication and assembly.
  • Author technical documents, specifications, & test specifications.
  • Maintain bill of materials.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 7 years of full-life cycle hardware development and support experience.
  • Experience in embedded system design with high density FPGAs and low latency, high speed circuits.
  • Hands on experience with sophisticated test and measurement equipment.
  • Experience with schematic/PCB design tools.
  • Signal Integrity, Power, Thermal simulations & EMC Testing Experience
  • Proficient in soldering for minor modifications of assembled hardware to support development.
